The 2012 Summer Olympic Games are on now. They'll be going through August 12th. If you're in the United States then you have the dubious distinction of having to put up with NBC's shit coverage of this event, unlike the BBC or a lot of other sensible media organizations that aren't run by fuckwits and retards, and have to rely upon cheating your way into spoofing or switching your online presence such that you can use those other organization's media resources to watch the games as they happen- or pay NBC for its substandard shit online streaming. As I rather like certain of the game's regular events, I would like to watch them as they happen and not on fucking delayed broadcast.
That said, I remind myself--as well as you folks--that there's still a wider world full of things going on. Syria is still a thing, and people are still getting ganked and shanked over there by both loyalist and rebel agents (and sometimes it's actually an honest accident). The LIBOR scandal is still going on, and its getting tied to the most improbable events. Copycats of the Aurora shooter are still a thing. The U.N. just flopped on its arms treaty, again, but that will come back some time down the road. The U.S. has its Presidential elections revving up as Summer wanes and the Autumn push begins its full-spectrum assault on American minds. That's just what the mainstream media outlets--themselves biased all to Hell and back, and not to be trusted without independent verification outside of that class--in the U.S. and the U.K. are still covering. There's plenty more that's important going on, and I would like to think that you're neglecting what's going on around you because of the spectacle of the Games.
Stay vigilant. We're heading into August this week, and that's worrisome for a lot of us--wrapped up in the old title "The Guns of August"--because this is a month that's often used by Empire and its Thralls to push agenda items and pull scams great and small to get those items passed. You, and you alone, can defend your freedom; don't get sloppy. Empire must fall.
